The Renaissance is the foundation for modern society. The Romans invented cement, arches, domes, water systems, highways, malls, arenas, sandals, military movements, apartments, and indoor Plumbing just to mention some of the things we use. Gutenberg invented the printing press which allowed people to read books and to begin think critically about various things. Math and science took great leaps and art discovered perspective in paintings. It also began to go beyond just religious art into other areas. History is not little sections in a book, but it is all connected as each event happens, or when man moves forward in thinking or inventions. It is continuously changing and folding in on itself. Nothing happens without a previous version, question, event, or idea.
