Can you move out of your parents house at 16 in New Zealand?

Yes you can if you are able to

1) financally support yourself

2) Aren't mentally/physically impaired and require assistance on a regualar basis.

3) if you cant financially support yourself you will need to be on the IYB (independant youth benifit) and for this both you and your parents will need to have interviews done my th government my psychologists to assess why yo cant live their and why its in your interests to not live with them

4)you also need a place you can stay permenantly as 16 year olds can not sign a lease for a house by themselves, they need a guarantour. So best option is to board with the parents of your friend and your friend.
