"Live-in partners" is a term that covers a very large number of sets of circumstance.

Broadly read it means two or more people of like or different genders, sharing accommodations within an agreed upon arrangement, and sharing responsibilities (financial and physical) for said accommodations. Additional commitments to one another may or may not exist.
