Why are criminals hanged for death before sunrise?

There is no law that requires that be the time of death. If it is adhered to at all, it may well be that it is done simply by 'custom.'

It is considered unsafe and unethical to hang a person in broad day light. It is rather safer to send him to the other world before sunrise.
