Are there any solar powered walkie talkies?

Yes, there are although i dont know if they are still produced since their company SHARPER IMAGE is undergoing (from what i read on the Net) major financial difficulties and is prone to bankruptcy. I bought them from a mall in Miami FL (Aventura Mall), in the company's retail store and each one has a solar cell apart from ordinary batteries. They work well but solar charging is somewhat faulty...takes FOREVER to charge them with the Solar Cell and most of the times i end up using the included AC adapter. Reception however and all the other aspects of the Walkies are much better compared to their solar function... Hope this helps Tassos Athens Greece sentinel10@gmail.com
