How many children did kit Carson have?

Kit Carson, whose real name was Christopher Houston Carlson, was a well known trailblazer. He lived among and married into the Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes. He had one child by his wife, Singing Grass, an Arapaho woman. He had eight children with his wife Josepa Jaramillo, who he married when she was fourteen.
