This, of course, depends on the type and age of the offense. Under federal regulations, a person is forever banned from the Program (Section 8 or public housing) if they were convicted of manufacturing meth, an offense for which they must register as a sex offender, or any fraudulent offense related to any aspect of the Program. Each housing authority has the right to set its own rules which may be even more strict than standard federal regulations.
