If the PCV valve is blocked would it cause the motor to be very hot?

It could, but usually if the PVC is stuck the car will barly run if at all. Shake the valve it should rattle. If your still not sure pull the valve from its hole and with the engiene running put your finger on the end of the valve and see if anything changes
