What are examples of abyssal plain?

Abyssal plains are some of the flattest and smoothest regions on Earth, typically found at depths between 3,000 and 6,000 meters (9,800 to 19,700 feet) in the ocean. Examples include the Mozambique Abyssal Plain in the Indian ocean and the North Atlantic Abyssal Plain, which extends across the Atlantic Ocean floor. These plains are characterized by a thick layer of sediment and are often home to unique deep-sea ecosystems.
