How much the efficiency of the stepper motor?

It depends on a lot of factors - if the stepper is stopped between steps, the efficiency is zero.

Earlier this week, I had a small nema23 size motor driving a pump and got about 20w of mechanical power out for about 40w DC in, or about 50% under optimal conditions.
