Who did not run for President in 1848?

A great amount of people did not run. It would be impossible to list them all. However, it is possible to list who DID run. The Wing party nominees were: Zachary Taylor, Henry Clay, Winfield Scott, Daniel Webster, John Middleton Clayton, and John McLean; Zachary Taylor won the nomination. The Democratic party nominees were: Lewis Cass, Levi Woodbury, James Buchanan, and Martin Van Buren; Lewis Cass won even though Martin Van Buren was former president. The Free Soil nominees were: Martin Van Buren, John P. Hale, Joshua R. Giddings, Charles Francis Adams, Sr.; Martin Van Buren won.
