A network manager - needs to know how to instal software, and hardware - to be able to diagnose and fix hardware faults - how to add, remove and change permissions of network users... and a whole host of subsidiary tasks associated with the smooth running of a network. The salary - would depend on the person's experience, qualifications and cost of living.
