Do dogs respond better to commands with treats or without?

Most dogs react better with a treat because to them this is praise. They understand 'Good Dog' and "Bad Dog" but they still get confused. By giving them a treat for praise, they realize they are doing something good and right. If they don't get a treat, they realize they didn't do it right or did something wrong.
