Why people thought of wearing clothes?

Depends on where they lived. Some places, people wanted clothes mainly to protect them from the environment and the weather. Other places, clothes were used to signal status and wealth, even if they weren't actually needed.

Or clothes can be used to signal which tribe/family/clan whatever you belong to.

And in some places, clothes were used for all of the above, at the same time.
