What solutions will help decrease the number of homeless people?

Mathematically the number of homeless people are going to increase each year. The current tax structure does not redistribute wealth effectively thus "the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer" is not just a saying. The game Monopoly is based on our economic structure. The homeless are those that have lost the game. At our current statistical rate the number of losers are increasing exponentially. This was the cause for the great depression. FDR was able to resurrect our economy by raising taxes on the rich (winners) by up to 91% and redistributing it to the poor (losers) thus keeping all in the game. It will be tough to find a leader that could do that in today's era though as the rich now own powerful media companies that can manipulate the masses in ways that they could not in the 30's. Sorry
