Assuming you are quite close to the American border, the cluster of starts making up the "head" of Hydra are due South on February 1st at midnight. Look just below the central group of stars in Cancer, and just East of Canis Minor. All of Hydras stars save one are very faint, and most of the constellation lies very close to the horizon in Northern USA latitudes, making viewing even more difficult
