What is an r title for a motorcycle in Pa?

An "R" title is a "Rebuilt" title. If a motorcycle was wrecked and declared a loss by the insurance company and then subsequently rebuilt, it gets an R-title. R-titled vehicles are often difficult (if not impossible) to get financing through banks. Also, insurance companies are less likely to provide full comprehensive or collision coverages - the vehicle was already written off as a total loss. Any subsequent damage would be difficult to determine if it was from the original accident or from a new event. R-titled vehicles are generally worth about half of a non-rebuilt titled vehicle. It is a great opportunity to get a nice bike for a cheap price, especially if the original damage was mainly cosmetic in nature.
