Messenger RNA (mRNA) is edited into its final form in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. During this process, introns are removed and exons are spliced together, a process known as RNA splicing. Additionally, modifications such as the addition of a 5' cap and a poly-A tail occur, which are crucial for mRNA stability and translation. Once these modifications are complete, the mature mRNA is transported to the cytoplasm for protein synthesis.
