How do you change the transmission fluid in a 2000 2.5 mercury cougar?

best thing is to take it to a shop and have it flushed. the pan only holds about 4 quarts. the tranny and converter total about 11 quarts so you cant change it all unless u have the shop equipment to pump the fluid through
