Sanitation is the removal of contaminated items or goods by disposal in a land fill site or the washing of items that can be washed using standard cleaning products. Disinfection is the act of cleaning and rendering items clean and free of infectious viruses, bacteria, fungus, mold and other removable contaminants by use of an antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral cleaning agent.
