it depends on what you dye them with. and what colour. and what shampoo you use...
you need a lot of dye because dreadlocks are like sponge - they absorb a lot!
if you use permanent dye it will stay much longer than semi-permanent or temporary.
if you bleach the dreads before the color will be better if it's something like red, green, blue, purple...
then follow the instructions on the box...
and don't wash your hair too often, the color will stay longer.
a lot of dreadlock shampoos are very strong and they make the dye go away quickly, especially dr bronners. you may want to use a softer shampoo...
