How many times Amazon River cross equator?

The Amazon River crosses the equator twice. It flows from west to east, originating in the Andes Mountains of Peru and eventually emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. As it meanders through northern Brazil, it crosses the equatorial line both in its upper and lower reaches.
