What is stewarship?

A stewardship is when one is given a responsibility. I have a stewardship to care for my wife and children, even though they are all married and have families of their own. I have a stewardship as patriarch over their families.

To say that one has a stewardship gives the responsibility more importance if you like. It is one that you must not fail to carry out.
