What happens to speed of an object as it is falling?

the object starts at 9.81 m/s. after each second, it doubles. so.....

first second:9.81 m/s

second second: 19.62 m/s

third second: 39.24 m/s

fourth second: 78.48 m/s

fifth second: 156.96 m/s

and so on and so forth
