How do brown bears find shelter?

female bears dig out a den when they're having cubs. Apart from that they stay right on the ice. They're so well insulated that they really don't need much shelter.
Polar bears dig holes in the snow and sleep there. They also make a temporary ice cave if there is a blizzard. Most of the day they romp around.
