He very well may like him but how special are you to him. To see if its not for sex then tell him that he's special to you too but things need to go slow. See how long he sticks around. If for two to three months and he doesnt expect anything, then maybe but if two days or weeks then he needs to be kicked to the curb and wasnt deserving of you in the first place.
