I strongly suggest wearing whichever color your Mom would like best, whether a flower or even a pretty outfit.
And don't forget to plan on cooking breakfast for your Mom and serving her in bed, after she has had an extra long sleep.
Don't worry about any mess in the kitchen. Dad can look after that all by himself.
Breakfast in bed and, afterwards, a big " I love you " hug is a wonderful family tradition in many homes on her special day.
I think the question may refer to the tradition where the color of the flower worn indicates whether the mother is living or not. Red indicates that your mother is living. White indicates that she has passed away. I have not seen this in practice for years, tho, but I think it is a very nice tradition.
