Do nuts need refrigeration when opened?

I have had walnuts and almonds in my cupboards for over three months and had no problem with the flavor of my nuts. Some people like a frozen or refrigerated. They probably last longer that way. I'm planning on putting my nuts in the refrigerator for longer lasting freshness.
