Buddhism is the same as the central part of Hinduism.Thus, Buddhists use the central Varna of Hinduism i.e. a Varna between Kshatriya and Vaishya.

It is for this reason that Hindu Scheduled castes who got converted into Buddhism are considered as Buddhist Scheduled castes and not as Buddhists.
