What continent are the Caribbean islands on?

The Caribbean islands are located on the continent of North America. They are situated in the Caribbean Sea, to the southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and the United States. Some of the islands are considered part of the larger North American region, while others are geographically closer to South America.
