A basic belief is that learning comes from witnessing others. It is said to have 4 main requirements:

  • Attention - the person is aware of what someone is doing, and the response it gets
  • Retention - the person remember what the person did, and what the response was
  • Motivation - the person wishes to achieve the same outcome
  • Reproduction - the person acts (physically) to duplicate the witnessed activity
