Hitler's girlfriend, Eva Braun, became his wife shortly before both died. She was with Hitler in a bunker in Berlin as American and Soviet Russian troops were closing in to capture them. As a suicide pact, they both took poison capsules. She died quickly, but he did not. In fear, he shot himself in the head.
