I have a 1998 Acura CL 3.0. I had an experience this past winter. I washed my car, and then the next day I couldn't open door with the remote or manually. I realized that the water drained into the door and froze the lock, so I had to wait until it thawed out. Yesterday, it rained all day, and this morning my car alarm went off for no reason. I remembered in the summer, I fixed the rubber and reattached it to my door. I did it myself instead of taking it to the dealer using superglue. Because the rubber allowed the water into the door it effected the alarm. I unlocked the door, waited until it dryed out and no problem again.
