What causes tsusami?

Tsunamis are primarily caused by underwater earthquakes, particularly those that occur along tectonic plate boundaries. When an earthquake displaces a large volume of water, it generates powerful waves that can travel across oceans at high speeds. Other causes include volcanic eruptions, landslides, and the impact of meteorites or asteroids in large bodies of water. These events disturb the water column and create the massive waves characteristic of tsunamis.
