Did Christianity start in Israel

The kingdom of Israel was destroyed by the Assyrians in 722 BCE and no longer existed when Christianity began. In its place was Samaria, whose inhabitants were always at odds with the Jews.

Jesus is believed to have been born in Bethlehem, in Judea. His mission took place in Galilee and in Judea.
