Why are vampire books so appealing?

The reason girls are so obsessed with "Twilight" and Edward Cullen isn't because he's got the perfect body, the perfect looks, or because he's a vampire. When you read the books you put yourself in place of Bella, when she falls in love so do you, when she faints, you get lightheaded yourself.

He knows the right things to say, not in a, "If I say this now she'll fall in love with me even more!" way but in a, "I love this girl more than my life and I don't care anymore- I'm going to tell her how I feel" way. When he touches her your heart speeds up with hers. It's the perfect fantasy love girls so often dream about.

A girl doesn't need a super perfect, unreachable, impossible guy- just a guy who loves her. So they spend hours dreaming they were Bella- that it's real. And it's hard to leave that fantasy world for the true one. To drag yourself away from feeling loved and cared for.

Sometimes fantasy is much better than reality… "If all girls say boys are better in books then why aren't the real boys picking up on this???"
