Cellphone tapping has numerous privacy and subsequently ethical issues attached to it. In many instances, that are not government-based (lawful interception), it is an illegal act and should not be encouraged. Phone recording software can be used to record a call or text conversation, as can coil taps attached to the headset, and some poorly protected calls can even be monitored via a simple radio scanner.
