It is so coz higher the height speed @ which u fall is greater... due to gravity..

learn some school physics and u'll understand y

g=acceleration of gravity, m=mass, s=seconds

g=9.8 m/s*s

the more you fall the more speed you get and the more damage you end up with.

In simple way it can be explained using the momentum.

According to momentum, i.e., P=mv where m=mass of the body and v=velocity of the body,

and force i.e., F=ma where m=mass and "a"=acceleration . In this case the acceleration is the acceleration due to gravity that is "g".As the body travels more distance or height, the velocity of the body increases.As a result, when a body jumps from higher heights the velocity when it reaches the ground increases and as a result the body hits the ground very heavily.

Therefore,there will be greater damage if jump from higher heights.
