Why aren't mirrors white?

For it to be considered a mirror, the surface must be smooth compared to the wavelength of light. Certainly smoother than a quarter of a wavelength.

Whilst white reflects all colours, no restriction is made on the surface smoothness.

A common mirror one meets is inside a prism, (e.g. inside prismatic binoculars) but these surfaces have no colour at all.
