The pharmacist's duty of care relates to the whole running of the pharmacy and delegates jobs to those who are suitably trained. the ACT will have passed training to check certain prescriptions. eg those which are regular medications and have not changed in strength or dose.

Some pharmacist such as locums may not be comfortable using an ACT as any error will still fall to them if something is missed as they are responsible for the pharmacy.
