If you're buying a dress for a store you may want to consider hiring as you will be able to get a more expensive dress and you only really every where your formal dress once or twice so it might be cheaper. Look at boutique stores otherwise you make have the same dress as some else. 3 months before As now you know what your dress is going to look like or you have brought it, you will need to buy some shoes make sure that they are going to be comfortable enough to wear them all night and that they go with your dress. Go to outlet stores as formals are usually in the winter, so you make be able to pick up a bargain when buying your formal heels. Also buy jewellery it doesn't need to be expensive there are many store that you can buy earrings any necklaces for under $40 so shop around. You will also have to book your beauty appointments, see if there are any formal packages or if you go with a few friends you may be able to get a discount. On the day Sleep in , get all your thing ready but you go to your appointments so that when you are getting ready will not be running around getting all your thing ready at the last minute.
