Why is the Paris fashion culture so important?

The Paris fashion culture is NOT that important. We're lead to believe that what "they" come out with is top of the line.

Use your own judgment and come up with your own fashion. Do you want to be just like the rest of the fashion culture and follow their lead? I don't, I have mind of my own and I can be just as creative. Besides, have you seen the dung they try and come up with. Good look with that personal fashion statement.
