How do you determine a high jump winner in a competion?

In a high jump competition, the winner is determined by the athlete who clears the highest height successfully. Each jumper has a series of attempts to clear progressively higher heights, and they can choose which heights to attempt. If multiple athletes clear the same highest height, the winner is decided based on the fewest unsuccessful attempts at that height and, if needed, at previous heights as well. If there's still a tie, a jump-off may be conducted to determine the winner.
