Are the 1985 and 1980 Toyota truck frames the same?

They are both made out of steel and they both support truck bodies. Both are fitted with 4 wheels two of which turn. They both have engine cradles and mounting areas for suspension. Sounds to me like they are the same.

If your asking if they are identical twins, I doubt it as there was 5 years worth of improvements between the two of them.

If you absolutely have to know, I would take a trip down to your local Toyota junkyard and ask the people that work there. They work with these things 8 hours a day 6 days a week. You could write a letter to Toyota over in Japan, where the frames are stamped out.

With a welder and a cutting torch, you could make any frame into any frame you wanted it to be.
