Can I password protect Microsoft Works documents?

I'm not sure if Microsoft Works has a passWord protect function built in, but WinZip can easily passWord protect archives. You can protect a a Microsoft Works document by saving it then placing it inside a passWord protected WinZip archive. WinZip is a shareware application and it's about about $30. There's a 30-day trial version which is free. There's a Pro version which is $50, but the "non-Pro" version has passWord protect functionality built in, so I see no reason why you'd need to "go Pro". Before shelling out $30 for WinZip, however, I'd see if there were any other file archiving programs with passWord protect functionality that were free (freeware/FOSS (Free and Open Source Software).
