OK I did this a while ago so I can't guarantee sizes and such, but here is how I did it. I hit a deer with the truck (2001 Xterra, same as 2000 and 2002) and it broke both pumps. To get at the reservoir you have to take the grill, bumper and lower valance off. This will take a 12 and 10mm socket. Then you disconnect the hoses and electrical feeders to the pumps. Next you take a flat head screw driver and pry the pumps out of their sockets. It may be easier to take the tank off the truck, which can be done by removing the 4 10mm bolts pinning it against the vehicle. Put the new pumps in, reconnect the hoses and electrical leads, and put everything back together!
