* Yes, they are very similar, they are both in the AKC's toy group and have about the same temperament.

* No not really! Havanese are better looking and tend to have better temperaments and don't have NEARLY as many health problems as Shih Tzus have! Havanese are in the toy group and shih tzuz are in the Non-Sporting group in the CKC.
