What happens to a sediment rock in a few million years?

In a few million of years sedimentary rocks could become weathered, eroded, transported and redeposited to form new sedimentary rock, could get affected and altered by high temperature and pressure to form metamorphic rock or finds its way into becoming a molten substance which would erupt, cool and solidify to become igneous rock.
