What are the pros and cons of the Removal Act of 1830?

The pros, if there were any, really, were more land was given to the white Americans, and it prevented whites from rebelling further (particularly those in Georgia and the South.)

The many cons included:

Many Native Americans were forced to move from their homes, which they had lived in for centuries.

Assimilation would have been a better option but was put to the wayside.

The removal resulted in rebellion from Native Americans.

Many Native Americans died from the harsh conditions and illness on the Trail of Tears, when they were forced to go west.
