Who is Saint Stephen?

Little is known about Saint Stephen.
He was mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles and is considered to be one of the first martyrs, having been stoned to death.

St. Stephen was one of the original 7 deacons appointed by the apostles to minister to the poor. He was stoned to death by angry Jews who refused to listen to his preaching and became the first martyr of the new Church. Little is known about Saint Stephen.
